FAQs
-
Chiltern Garden Buildings will usually complete a re-thatch within half a day.
-
On average, you will need to re-thatch your garden building roof every 6 to 8 years. This ensures the roof remains of high quality and is in good condition. The thatch we use will need more care and attention than the traditional thatch used on houses. Chiltern Garden Buildings use South African reed, which is harvested and manufactured into a tile.
-
Unlike traditional thatch, your garden building roof thatch will last for 5- 8 years. There can be some cases where thatch will not need to be replaced after 5 – 8 years, however, it is always worth checking after 5 years have passed. If you are unsure if your thatch needs replacing and need advice, feel free to give us a call.
